Special Notification

red strider logo
Fellow runners:
I am sure you are disappointed with the news that the Father’s Day 10k race has been cancelled.  It was not an easy decision to make and we are just as disappointed.  We were informed that a student sporting event was being held at Severna Park High School the same weekend and began searching for a new venue.  As I am sure you are aware, there are not many places that can safely host a race of 400+ runners, volunteers and spectators.  We found two possibilities; however, after further investigation, we felt that neither location would be safe for you, all our  volunteers, spectators or local community.   So we made the hard decision in the interest of what was best.
For those of you participating in the Championship Series, the scoring will be adjusted to reflect the cancellation of this race.  For those of you individual participants that registered through Active.com, you will be receiving a refund. (We are working on that process currently).
We thank each of you for your interest in participating and will plan to hold the race again next year.   Please look for our other races on our website, and we look forward to seeing you there!
Should you have any questions, please email me or our VP of Races, Irene
Thank you for your time and understanding.
