Registration opens August 1, 2021.

The Downs Park 5 Mile Run is a loop course on paved trails at John H. Downs Memorial Park. The flat, scenic course winds through the woods with gorgeous views of The Chesapeake Bay. Parking, bib pickup, refreshments, start and finish are all located in or near the Fernwood Pavilion at the end of the park road.
The course is mostly in deep woods at Rosaryville State Park, though there is some running in meadows also. The trail is largely single track; not very technical. The Start (also the Finish) is at the Pavilion picnic area about three quarters of a mile from where the runners enter the single-track perimeter trail. Hot food after the race starting about 11:30. The race will end at 4:00pm.
The course has two aid stations. There will be a bag drop just before the second aid station, a short walk from the Start/Finish.

This year, the Bay Bridge Paddle is being held during the Maryland Seafood Festival on Sunday, September 26th. This race will bring together all ages of paddlers to share in a day of camaraderie and fellowship.
Endurance athletes will love taking their training to the water for a new kind of challenge at the Bay Bridge Paddle, which attracts all levels of paddlers who race on the Chesapeake Bay on stand up paddleboards, kayaks, and other paddle craft.
Racers choose from three distances based on their level of experience:
The Span – 9 miles • Experienced
Paddlers race for the greatest distance under the span of the Bay Bridge, where water conditions can provide a great technical and endurance challenge.
The Steamer – 3 miles • Intermediate experience
Paddlers get a taste of racing under the Bay Bridge providing a technical challenge over a shorter, more accessible distance
The Soft Shell – 1 mile • Beginner
Newcomers to performance paddling who enjoy taking their fitness to the water will love our 1 mile course along the shoreline which is suitable for all levels and ages
All race participants receive a commemorative T-shirt and an energizing breakfast to help fuel up before the race.
The Bay Bridge Paddle proudly supports the Foundation for Community Betterment.
The Crofton Kiwanis Club and Foundation are planning their annual community 10K and 5K races for Saturday, October 2nd. The certified 10K course includes a great tour around our tree-lined community with some challenging hills and is a great tune-up for fall marathon training or even first time 10K participants. The 5K course goes completely around Crofton Parkway. All profits from these races are put towards the many community charities that the club supports.
