Welcome to the 2017 edition of the Annapolis Striders Moore’s Marines Marathon Training. With proper dedication and attention to your training, this is something you can do! This is an 18 week build-up program for marathon runners. Training Begins on June 17, 2016 at 7am.
Our target race is the Marine Corps Marathon (“MCM”), which is October 30, 2016. If you want to run Baltimore or another marathon let us know and we can adjust the plans for you. Regardless of which race you target, you must sign up ON YOUR OWN. This program does not give you entry into any race.
Our group training runs will begin on Saturdays at 7:00 a.m. at Severna Park High School (SPHS). As we get further into training, we will start at 6:30 a.m. to “beat” the summer heat/humidity. You will soon learn though, that you can never really “beat” the heat. Directions to SPHS – from Route 2 South, make a right onto Robinson Rd. From Route 2 North, make a left onto Robinson Rd. Pass the B&A trail and enter the first high school parking lot on your right. We will be back by the tennis court area. There is ample parking. Look for people standing around in running gear and you’ll know you are in the right place.
Your leaders for this event are Tim Hella, Kelly Gardner, Ryan Seth, and Renee Dudley all RRCA certified running coaches. We will also have other experienced runners and coaches on the trail to help guide you.
