Spring Cleaning Day – Saturday, June 3, 2023

The club is providing you with an opportunity to participate in a Spring Clean-up at the club’s storage shed located at the U-Haul Moving and Storage Facility across from Westfield Mall. The course is out-and-back mostly along the B&A Trail starting from Severna Park High School. Runners will depart the school and head east along Robinson Road to the B&A Trail. Runners will turn left to enter the B&A Trail, heading North. Runners will cross several intersecting public streets along the course. Runners will continue to the designated turn-around location just over the East-West Blvd. overpass bridge. Upon turn-around, follow the same route back to the race finish at the Severna Park High School.

This race starts at 7:45 am with the women, and then 8:30 am approximately for the men. This event is also the graduation race for the Annapolis Striders’ 5K Beginners

We will run the same modified course as 2022 due to conflict with Naval Academy use of Greenbury Point. The course is a fast and flat scenic 2.4-mile loop, primarily on packed dirt paths around Greenbury Point Nature Reserve and Possum Point across the Severn River from the U.S. Naval Academy.

a new self-care wellness app, Prosper.
In partnership with the Anne Arundel County Mental Health Agency (AACMHA) and the Anne Arundel County Department of Health (AACDOH), local company Uneo Health has launched a free wellness app, Prosper, to help people work on their personal wellness goals such as stress, anxiety, sleep, self-esteem, fitness, and nutrition.
Download Prosper Today to use the in-app tools such as personalized mood tracking, journaling, friend support, in-app exercises, and educational videos. Prosper can also help you find support for an array of healthcare and support services to support your wellness journey.

Wednesday, June 7th is National Running Day and we’re going to celebrate for a full 24 hours by using the power of running to make a difference in our local community. We’re challenging you to use your legs to run (or walk) the Annapolis Town Center for 24 hours, 1 hour, or anything in-between to raise funds for Danny’s Fund, a component fund of the Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County. Contributions raised from this event will be directed towards purposes and causes that could help change the course of addiction in Anne Arundel County.

Crofton Kiwanis 10K and 5K

The Crofton Kiwanis Club and Foundation are planning their annual community 10K and 5K races for Saturday, June 10th. The certified 10K course includes a great tour around our tree-lined community with some challenging hills and is a great tune-up for fall marathon training or even first time 10K participants. The 5K course goes completely around Crofton Parkway. All profits from these races are put towards the many community charities that the club supports.

Run Up To Juneteenth

The first annual Run Up To Juneteenth 5K Run/1mi Walk was held in 2022 at the Baltimore Peninsula. We are Baltimore City’s official kickoff to the AFRAM Juneteenth celebration. Our 5K route begins in West Covington Park and spans the iconic Hanover Street Bridge, with a loop around Middle Branch Park that offers incredible views of the middle branch of the Patapsco River. As the first and only race route sanctioned to run across the Hanover Street Bridge connecting Baltimore Peninsula with the Cherry Hill neighborhood, the Run Up To Juneteenth is poised to become a Baltimore favorite.

Juneteenth 5K/1 Mile Charity Event

The NAACP Randallstown Youth Council #78ABG is a youth led organization consisting of ages ranging from 9-24 years old and engaged youth in opportunities to advocate, lead and be change agents in their lives, communities, and relationships.

Momentous Hip Hop 5K

Dr. Tim Vidale, leading sports physical therapist and Founder of Momentous Sports Medicine in Washington, DC, is hosting the inaugural Momentous Hip Hop 5K race/walk at Nationals Park on Sunday, June 25, 2023.
Proceeds from the event will support mental health resources for the Black community in addition to the Momentous Impact HBCU scholarship fund.
Beyond a traditional 5K, the event will include a resource expo featuring sponsors/partners and a community row with local organizations and businesses. And in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of hip hop, the event will feature DJs throughout the day and close with an afterparty.

Rock the Hall 5K

Rock the Hall 5K is fun and active way to celebrate the Bay and is part of the Bay Paddle race happening on Sat July 22nd. The race will benefit Chesapeake Conservancy’s efforts to designate the Chesapeake Bay as a National Park, WaterKeepers Chesapeake to help keep the waters and rivers of the Bay healthy and Oyster Recovery Partnership’s work to plant 10 billion oysters in the Bay. The registration fee is tax deductible. Bay Paddle is a registered 501c3 and all proceeds from participants are donated to Oyster Recovery Partnership, Chesapeake Conservancy and Waterkeepers Chesapeake.

Parks Half Marathon

Our race begins just before sunrise on a scenic Montgomery County road and quickly transitions into a tour of beautiful Rock Creek Park. As you run through the park you’ll experience the sun rising through the tree cover and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature. Mile markers help keep you on track and we also have an excellent pace team ready to help you reach your goals if you’d like.

NOVEMBER
Sunday, November 12, 2023-Run, walk or both across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge.
Don’t miss out on the chance to run or walk over the Chesapeake Bay. The beloved Maryland tradition returns with a 10-kilometer, 6.2-mile point-to-point course will take runners over the eastbound span of the 4.35-mile-long Chesapeake Bay Bridge, which reaches 186 feet at its tallest point. Participants will experience water vistas dotted with sailboats and cargo ships from atop a major dual-span bridge that doesn’t allow pedestrian traffic at any other time of the year. This event happens once a year and is the only way to cross this majestic span on foot.
