Stellar, outdoor evening at Sam’s Waterfront and the weather cooperated with the rain holding off giving the A10 graduation celebration a blast and a big welcome to the Cold Turkey 10K Coaches and class! Kate Grove, owner of Sunrise SUP and her staff were well prepared for the Annapolis Striders with extra boards and extra staff. Kim Hindle and Jenny Seth paddled the night away with Kate. If you missed this opportunity, we are going to try again with advanced registration the week of September 11th.
The Annapolis Striders August Social was held at The Pier (formerly Coconut Joes), located 48 S River Rd S, Edgewater, Maryland, MD 21037. We were in the open bar area with tremendous service; great food, drink and conversation was enjoyed by all. There were approximately 22 attendees and several new faces. Welcome Andrew Wilhelm, Cathy Koderabek, Jon Schraft, Coach Keith McCaffrey, Margaret Mullinix, and Sarah Burrucker.

Our July social was Thursday, July 13th from 6:30pm-8:30pm at the Severna Park Taphouse, in Severna Park.
We met outside on the deck which now has a pavilion with fans–super cool!! Welcome to summer in MD; it was a hot, hazy, and humid evening. Thank you and shout out to everyone that ran before the social; you deserved an ice-cold cup of water. Great turnout and so nice to see everyone. Welcome new faces: Christianne and Malcolm Fearey, David and Katie Dold, Wendye Rich, James Appel.
Thank you and shout out to Jessica, Manager, for reserving our space and extending happy hour until 8:30pm. Melissa, our server, and Charlie, our bartender, were game on.
Join us August 10th for next social at The Pier (formerly Coconut Joes). We will meet inside to the left of the bar with the high-top tables. Look for fellow Annapolis Striders and friends as soon as you walk inside.

Tom & Nancy Zorn are all smiles. They donated medals to Leslie Sparks; Leslie is collecting medals for Backpacks for Hope. Leslie says ‘here is another example of how all your hard earned miles can impact the lives around us. If you have medals and are willing to part with, giving the medals a second life to bring joy to someone else.’ You can bring your medals to A-10 training, Dog Days 8K, our August social, and/or the A-10 expo.

What a perfect night to be outdoors and enjoy another social/running reunion on the deck at the Mexican Café, Thursday, June 8th from 6:30pm-8:30pm. Welcome Wendye Rich, Chosnel Raymond, Julia Padilla and Julie Smith.

Dual Social with Annapolis Striders and Annapolis Triathlon Club Social Big Success!!
Annapolis Triathlon Club Iron Crabs organized a run clinic at the Annapolis Running Shop. Jenny Seth and Lee Crumbaugh led an informative run clinic enjoyed by many. Our dual social was held Thursday, May 11th from 6:00-8:30pm, at the Fleet Reserve Club of Annapolis, 100 Compromise Street in Annapolis.
Annapolis Striders and Annapolis Triathlon Club Iron Crabs were greeted and welcomed by Tim Longmire at the entrance of the Fleet Reserve Club of Annapolis. For a rainy, dreary night-we still had over 40 folks came out to make new friends, talk swimming, biking, running, and learn more about the Annapolis Striders and the Annapolis Triathlon Club Iron Crabs.
Thank you and shout out to Jenny Seth, Lee Crumbaugh, Tim Longmire, Chris Spelman Owen and Noreen Leary for all their work with the run clinic and the dual social.

There were approximately 40 Annapolis Striders, friends and family at our April social, Thursday, April 13th from 6:30pm-8:30pm at Chevys Annapolis, in Annapolis. We met in the restaurant, with our own private room; free appetizers courtesy of Marie Petrillo-Friedland and Chevy’s were enjoyed by all. Happy hour prices for food and beverages lasted until 8pm. Thank you and shout out to Marie Petrillo-Friedland for her recommendation for our social location, for reserving our space, providing free appetizers and wonderful staff to accommodate all of us. The Chevy’s staff sang ‘happy birthday’ to Chris Gower and placed a sombrero on him.
Easter was around the corner, so everyone was given a plastic Easter egg. Everyone won jelly beans, coins or a special item identifying them for a surprise bag and one lucky person had a chocolate bunny identifying them as the grand prize winner. There were four winners earning Striders Swag: Doreen Byrne, Evan Thomas, Kristel Rabideau, and Martin Shpuntoff.
Sophia Quinn had the chocolate bunny earning her the grand prize of Striders swag including a bag, towel, long sleeve t-shirt, sweatshirt, A-10 magnet.

6:00pm-Run clinic at the Annapolis Running Shop, 172 Main Street in Annapolis
6:30-8:30pm-Social at the Fleet Reserve Club of Annapolis, 100 Compromise Street in Annapolis.
Please do not park in the Fleet Reserve Club parking lot; the parking lot is for members only. We will meet in dining area…look for fellow Annapolis Striders and Annapolis Triathlon Club Iron Crabs as you walk in to the Fleet Reserve Club of Annapolis. There will be a fixed limited menu, cash bar and one check per table; cash is highly recommended. So, come on out and make new friends, talk swimming, biking, running, and learn more about the Annapolis Striders and the Annapolis Triathlon Club Iron Crabs.

Our Annapolis Striders March Golf & Social on Thursday, March 9th was big fun!! A few members could get their golf on before our social at the Renditions Golf Course. We met in the bar and on the adjoining deck and enjoyed happy hour prices for both food and beverages. There were approximately 30 folks that came out including some new faces: Jeff Corby, Lindsay Jones, Leah O’Brien, Addison Britton, and Julie Stanton.
Thank you and shout out to Patti Towle for her recommendation for our social location and thank you to the Event Coordinator, Jacque Leancy, of Renditions Golf Course for reserving our space and offering us Happy Hour prices.
