2018 Moore’s Marines Marathon Training

Come join our 18 week Moore’s Marines Marine Corps Marathon Training Program targeting the Marine Corps Marathon !

Our target race is the Marine Corps Marathon (“MCM”), but we will also provide a plan for the Baltimore Marathon. Regardless of which race you target, you must sign up for your marathon ON YOUR OWN. This program does not give you entry into any race.

This year will feature a variety of veteran coaches and mentors from the club. Training will officially start at Severna Park High School on June 30th at 6:30am.  There will be a June 23rd meet up for first timers and Baltimore Marathon runners (of course, others are welcome to join).   Training runs are on the B&A Trail, where we will provide hydration.  You must bring your own bottle/cup.

You must be able to run 10 miles comfortably to begin this training on June 23rd/30th. If you are unable to do this, please consider joining the A10 Training Group and making the A10 your goal race this season.

The training schedule will be posted here and on the Facebook Page before June 8th.  The training plan is subject to change (for reason such as weather).

See you on the trail!

2017 Moore’s Marines Marathon and Ultra Training

Training Begins on June 24, 2017 at 7am.

Welcome to the 2017 edition of the Annapolis Striders Moore’s Marines Marathon Training. With proper dedication and attention to your training, this is something you can do!  This is an 18 week build-up program for marathon runners.
Our target race is the Marine Corps Marathon (“MCM”), which is October 22, 2017. If you want to run Baltimore or another marathon let us know and we can adjust the plans for you. Regardless of which race you target, you must sign up ON YOUR OWN. This program does not give you entry into any race, although we do have entries for first time marathoners to the MCM (these codes bypass the lottery, but you must pay the entry fee on your own).
Our group training runs will begin on Saturdays at 7:00 a.m. at Severna Park High School (SPHS). As we get further into training, we will start at 6:30 a.m. to “beat” the summer heat/humidity. You will soon learn though, that you can never really “beat” the heat. Directions to SPHS – from Route 2 South, make a right onto Robinson Rd. From Route 2 North, make a left onto Robinson Rd. Pass the B&A trail and enter the first high school parking lot on your right. We will be back by the tennis court area. There is ample parking. Look for people standing around in running gear and you’ll know you are in the right place.
Your leaders for this event are Tim Hella, Kelly Gardner, Ryan Seth, Susan Noble, and Renee Dudley all RRCA certified running coaches. We will also have other experienced runners and
