Eva Coale will be taking the reins for the Half Marathon Program where this year we will combine best practices from the Extra Mile pilot into a Front of the Pack model that reunites experienced and new runners under one coaching team.
Half Marathon Training

FIRST TIME half marathoners!  Scheduled training will begin on December 28th for everyone.

Paul Thorn once again will be leading the way for new runners in the
Winter 5K program. If you’re interested in coaching or mentoring, there’s nothing more rewarding and no better group to cut your leadership teeth on than our 5K program.

Coach Paul Thorn is entering week 3 with the Winter 5K program that culminates with the Valentine’s Day 5K.

Marathon Season ended with a highlights reel this season.  Jorge Laurel, Assistant Lead Coach of the Moore’s Marines Program, BQ’ed in Chicago and put an exclamation point on that by finishing 1st in the Men’s 50-59 age bracket covering the MCM 50K 31.1 mile track in 4:08.  At least 9 others reported a Boston Qualifying Run.

The Southern Maryland Community Network Inc. New Year’s Day 5K Run/ Walk will be held Wednesday, January 1, 2020 in Prince Frederick, MD.

Southern Maryland Community Network is a non-profit mental health agency serving the Southern Maryland area.  Our Annual 5K Resolution Run/Walk helps raise money for our community mental health programs.  This fundraising event also helps us to create awareness about mental health in our community.  A portion of the proceeds also benefits the Erica Weems Scholarship Fund.  Erica was an employee of SMCN and was tragically killed in a car accident in August of 2007.

With a flat course and options for both a USATF Certfified Full and Half Marathon, this course is sure to please! Aide stations every 1.5 miles and a generous 7 hour cutoff for the full distance course make this a friendly first event for those wishing to start their marathon journey, or get back in to it. Marathoners!!! This course boasts an almost 10% Boston Qualification rate for our runners. Lots of swag, HUGE after party, early start times and cool weather!

The Naptown Half Marathon and 10K/5K race will be held Saturday May 30th, 2020, starting and finishing at the Navy Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis.
