ANNAPOLIS STRIDERS RUNNER EDUCATION AND
TRAINING

Annapolis Striders membership is required to participate in these training programs. There is no fee for the training programs but you must register.

Additional information about training programs may be found on the Annapolis Striders website.

We are happy to announce the opening of registration for the Half Marathon and Winter 5K programs.

Eva Coale will be taking the reins for the Half Marathon Program where this year we will combine best practices from the Extra Mile pilot into a Front of the Pack model that reunites experienced and new runners under one coaching team.

Paul Thorn once again will be leading the way for new runners in the
Winter 5K program. If you’re interested in coaching or mentoring, there’s nothing more rewarding and no better group to cut your leadership teeth on than our 5K program.

NOVEMBER

right-arrow-icon3.gif The Anne Arundel Community College 31st Annual Turkey Trot will be held Wednesday, November 27th, 2019 at noon.

Come enjoy a 5K or 1 mile jaunt on the campus of Anne Arundel Community College and burn some calories before turkey day! The course will be a 2 loop rolling course primarily through west campus due to the construction on campus. It will start and finish outside of Jenkins Gymnasium. Registration will start at 10AM inside Jenkins Gymnasium. There are Turkeys and Pies for category winners and a raffle for all entrants with lots of cool giveaways.
right-arrow-icon3.gif  The 20th Annual Turkey Chase 10K and 5K Run will be held Thursday, November 28th, 2019 at 8:00 am at Camp Letts in Edgewater, MD.

The Turkey Chase Charity Race at YMCA Camp Letts is a truly unique event in our region. Held on our beautiful wooded peninsula the event has something for everyone. The free to enter mascot race allows your kids, and the big kid in you to race against our own Turkey, as well as local mascots from across the region. The 5K is a family friendly event for runners and walkers of all abilities. Our Turkey is a Participant in the 5K so you will be able to see how your training has compared to his. The 10K run takes you off camp and onto the beautiful Smithsonian property before returning to Camp Letts. Both 10K/5K events are now chip timed!!! While we love our furry friends, we encourage you to leave all pets at home.
