The Dog Days of Summer 8K Cross Country Run is
Sunday, August 4, 2019 at 8:00 am at
Anne Arundel Community College.
The race is the fifth leg of the Annapolis Striders Championship Series and is part of the Maryland RRCA series.
If you are signed up for the Annapolis Striders Championship series,
you are good to go!
There are construction detours at Anne Arundel Community College. To get to Lot D by the AACC stadium, use the second entrance (counting from Rte 2) on College Parkway. It is the entrance by the barn. Take a right into Lot D. If Lot D fills, proceed to Lot C. Do not park where there are course markings in Lot C. Walk to Lot D by following the course around the drainage pond and at the trees leave the course, walk under the trees, and use the cross walk to get to Lot D.
Volunteers are needed for course preparation in the days leading up to the race and for the usual and customary race day activities associated with any race.
The course is mostly in deep woods at Rosaryville State Park, though there is some running in meadows also. The trail is largely single track; not very technical. The Start (also the Finish) is at the Pavilion picnic area about three quarters of a mile from where the runners enter the single-track perimeter trail. Hot food after the race starting about 11:30. The race will end at 4:00 pm.
The course has two aid stations about 4 1/2 miles apart. There will be a bag drop at the first aid station. We will transport bags from the Start to the bag drop site when the race begins and return them to the pavilion after the race–or you can pick up your bag as you leave the park.
To volunteer or for more information, contact Co-Race Director,
